Becoming a Part of the Press
The Press Corps is a branch of Model UN that provides enthusiastic and dedicated students the opportunity to learn and critically analyze multiple world issues from different perspectives. It models the professional journalistic system that follow the United Nations in their own conferences, but is extended in the form of an immersive outlet for delegates to indulge in and awaken their inner journalist. Be it through social media, article writing, photography, videography or during the Press Conferences, you will be in constant contact with an immense realm of knowledge that takes you a step further in the Model UN experience.
The BRAMUN XVIII Press Corps team is for passionate and dedicated students that are driven by their curiosity. In order to be a successful journalist and make the most out of the conference, it is important to be organized, keep to deadlines and always communicate with the director and your fellow Press delegates. This year's edition of the Press Corps is unique and innovative in its own way. With the introduction of the Press Conferences, Press Crisis and new roles there will be lots going on and you are certain to find the role that best fits you!
Positions on the Team:
The News Editor will be the overseer and administrator of the News Agencies. This role is fit for an organized, methodical and efficient student who will work closely with the Press Corps Director when discussing matters involving articles, the newspaper, twitter accounts or the website. Responsibilities will range from the editing, proofreading and publishing of the News Agencies content, ensuring they are coherent and in line with their bias. You will be the only other person alongside the Director with direct access to the Twitter account; You will be in charge of managing Twitter posts, releasing information on Crisis, and the overall newspaper layout.
The Media Coordinator will be the overseer and supervisor for the Audio visual Team. It is important that you are organized, work well with deadlines and have thorough knowledge of video and photo editing. Responsibilities will range from editing the photographers’ content and making sure it is uploaded accordingly; Also working with the videographers in the compilation and editing of the closing ceremony video. You will work closely with the Press Director, posting stories and photos of the conference on the official BRAMUN Instagram page!

November 22nd, 2019: Press applications are due
December 13, 2019: Press Positions are announced.
