A letter from the Secretary-General
Esteemed Delegates and Advisors,
Welcome to the eighteenth edition of BRAMUN! My name is Michelle Gusmão, and it is with huge honor that I serve as Secretary-General for this year's conference. The Leadership Team’s main goal for our event, happening from March 24th to March 28th, 2021, is to cherish youth empowerment by creating a community of passionate negotiators and skilled diplomats of the future, who understand the importance of truth and diplomacy when it comes to adapting to change. To ensure that, our Leadership Team has been working restlessly to make this version of our conference the most supportive and inspiring possible, crafting committee ideas and choosing topics that will find an echo in our carefully chosen conference theme: "let truth be the dialect of diplomacy."
That said, this year's conference will be composed of a total of ten challenging and exclusive committees, which range from the most traditional: Security Council, Historical Security Council, Political Committee, and the Economic and Social Council, to the most unexpected ones: our five Special Committees (UN Cybersecurity, International Finance Corporation, Salem Witch Trials, and the World War II Joint Cabinet. Delegates are also highly encouraged to join our Press Corps, where they will obtain first-hand experience on the importance of media coverage to the real United Nations' gatherings by representing news agencies and working as journalists. While debating is indeed the main component of BRAMUN, its differential lies in the opportunity it gives its participants to build everlasting memories and lifelong friendship by joining our BRAMUN Cup activities and by exploring the many technological innovations we will be adding to this conference, which will be happening online!
It is with distinct pleasure that I invite all of you to check our website and embark on this unforgettable experience! If you have questions, comments, or concerns, do not hesitate to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I can't wait to meet all of you!
Secretary-General, BRAMUN XVIII
